macOS Systems and Network Administrator
Punchcut is looking for a macOS Systems & Network Administrator to help Punchcut maintain a future-forward technology perspective while keeping our technology infrastructure running smoothly. The Systems & Network Administrator role is a one-person tech department, responsible for everything from troubleshooting networking issues to implementing new systems for employees to researching new emerging technology platforms (wearables, home automation, etc.). The ideal candidate will not only keep our infrastructure running smoothly, but explore and evangelize emerging technologies.
Responsibilities
- Network & Server Support
- Perform a broad range of work with a variety of services, technologies and environments including macOS, macOS Server, Windows desktop, MySQL, Unix, VoIP systems, VMWare Fusion
- Support Meraki cloud-hosted networking and appliances
- Review logs, diagnose problems, and provide solutions
- Network operations: firewalls, routers, wireless, and switches
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, problem diagnosis and issue resolution
Security & Compliance
- Ensure system and network security
- Track assets, manage IT leases, ensure contract compliance
- Manage disaster recovery and maintain backups
- Document IT systems and procedures
Desktop Support
- Support Punchcut staff in day-to-day hardware, software and networking for 40+ machines and devices.
- Provide macOS/iOS enterprise management for creative professionals
- Administer and troubleshoot creative apps (e.g., InVision, Sketch, Principle, Origami, Creative Suite)
- Administer cloud-hosted file sharing services like Dropbox for Business, Google Drive and Box
- Manage JAMF device automation
- Manage and support all IT requests using Zendesk
- Train and educate Punchcut staff on software and tools
Dev Ops
- Work with project teams and clients to define requirements for development systems
- Support setup and configuration of development, staging and production servers
- Manage and administer Jira , AWS, WordPress, and GitHub
- Manage version control software
IT Strategic Planning & Execution
- Provide strategic guidance of Punchcut’s long-term technology roadmap and vision
- Develop and communicate IT policies that maximize employee productivity, while protecting client IP
- Identify opportunities for evolving our systems and tools, research alternatives, recommend and implement systems to improve our offering
- Manage IT vendor relationships; lead contract negotiations
- Manage multiple projects, create timelines, and set expectations
Research and Development
- Procure and manage library of mobile devices (iOS/Android) and other emerging technology devices (AR/VR, wearables, IoT, smart speakers, etc
- Research new, emerging technologies for our client projects (e.g., automotive platforms)
- Train and coach others on new tech, consult and advise project teams
- Support teams in prototyping and development activities via Punchcut Labs
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in a professional environment, ideally in a creative agency
- 3-5 years of hands-on macOS desktop and server experience
- Intermediate knowledge of MySQL, SQL, PostgreSQL, Unix
- Mobile support for iOS, Android, etc.
- CrashPlan Pro and Proe Server solutions
- Application Support with Google Apps for Business, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Keynote
- AWS, Terminal command line, GitHub, web administration expertise
- VoIP experience (RingCentral)
- Experience with best practices related to security, asset management, and disaster recovery
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting, support and problem solving skills
- Strong client service and consulting approach
- Positive attitude, flexibility and a sense of humor

- Knowledge of digital prototyping tools (InVision, Principle, Origami)
