Product Strategist

Punchcut is looking for a Product Strategist to remotely join our team. You’ll be an extended member of our talent network to serve as a consultant supplementing our internal capabilities as we scale. You’re a master of prioritizing client needs and product features, and partnering with product development teams via meticulous documentation and proactive management and communication. You have at least 5 to 7 years of relevant product management, and you feel comfortable working in a fast-paced and collaborative creative-agency environment. The ideal candidate would be an independent product manager that we could work with on projects from time to time over the next 1-3 years, however, may be a contract-to-hire option based on client demand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Product Strategist will provide business strategy, product strategy, and hands-on product development experience to Punchcut and client design teams, and help us exceed client expectations.

  • Help develop product and service strategies for our clients as part of our broader team
  • Assess market competition, landscape, differentiators and unique selling points
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements
  • Recommend / facilitate determination of product scope, feature set and MVP drivers
  • Provide overall product development and feature-level direction to project teams
  • Recommend go-to market product launch plans, including strategic product roadmaps
  • Define user stories and ensure requirements are met
  • Develop sprint plans and support project managers in execution of the sprint plans
  • Interface with main executive sponsors, Punchcut creative teams, and client technical development teams
  • Partner with Punchcut Project Managers to monitor and guide workflow and product development related tasks; set daily, weekly, and long-term project goals and report status
  • Work within an enthusiastic team to further refine our product management philosophies, capabilities, processes and tools

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven track record of delivering products on time and within budget in the consumer technology industry
  • Minimum of 5 years experience managing both large- and small- scale go-to-market interactive and digital products
  • Proficiency developing and documenting product roadmaps, user stories, product requirements, etc.
  • Ability to independently identify and resolve product development issues
  • Maintains up-to-date market and technical knowledge, including competitive/comparative analysis
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA, Zeppelin, Confluence and/or other product design & development tools
  • Excellent estimating and scheduling skills
  • Experience with UX design and agency/consulting environments
  • Excellent presentation, oral and written-communication skills, including meeting and workshop-facilitation experience
  • Flexibility to jump head first into a project and hit the ground running
  • Excellent team building, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Enthusiasm, positive energy, and sense of humor

Bonus points for:

  • Experience working in a creative/design agency environment
  • Familiar with Keynote, Sketch, Figma, Adobe Suite
