Samsung
The future of immersive experience design
Punchcut and Samsung partnered to envision and prototype next-generation immersive experiences across a series of projects. The goal was to converge virtual and physical spaces with multi-sensory interaction to deliver more value for their smart home and entertainment services.
Immersive Experience
Multi-sensory Experiences
One of the ways we approached multi-sensory experiences with Samsung is through the use of a Sensory Systematics Chart. This exercise maps the series of human and machine inputs and outputs across time, which enabled us to better understand how users interacted with devices.

Spatial-3d Design
Spatial Design
Understanding the spatial relationship between users and devices is a key aspect of spatial design. By utilizing the proxemics framework, Punchcut was able to better understand the spatial relationship between users and devices, and how it affected interactions.
Immersive Interaction
Multimodality
In designing for immersive experiences, Punchcut and Samsung were able to explore the combination of different modalities of interaction. This opened up opportunities of being able to leverage the pros of a type of interaction and offset its cons with the other interaction modality.

Innovation Strategy
Product Vision
Through close collaboration with Samsung, we ideated on new opportunities to imagine future products. With the power of prototyping and motion, we were able to encapsulate future visions into tangible experiences to share-out company-wide and to hand-off to C-suite executives.
