SAN FRANCISCO – At the recent Device Design Day, T-Mobile® creative director Charles Goran presented the user interface redesign and relaunch of T-Mobile’s signature device, the Sidekick®.

In his talk Bringing the Sidekick Back Goran shared the design thinking – the brand attributes and unique demographic considerations – that became the creative brief and guided the interface design decisions of the T-Mobile and Punchcut collaboration.
“We were glad to see Charles present some of Punchcut’s UI work at D3,” said Punchcut Executive Creative Director Jared Benson. “We were privileged to collaborate with T-Mobile‘s Sidekick product team on the reintroduction of such an iconic device. The Sidekick enjoys a fanbase who love the form factor and the messaging-centric and social aspects of the device experience – and they were ready for the revamp.”
Punchcut Account Manager Rhonda Barzon commented, “Among so many mobile devices that all aim for the broadest possible target market it is refreshing to see T-Mobile's commitment to a device that has a very defined target and a clear point of view.”
